Barca hopes to preserve unbeaten start against Granada

Barcelona, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) – Barcelona will aim to continue its impressive start to the season on Saturday when the club welcomes Granada to Camp Nou.

The Catalans opened the season with four successive league wins but dropped points for the first time of the campaign with a 0-0 draw against Malaga on Wednesday.

That result saw Barcelona drop into a three-way tie with Sevilla and Valencia for top spot in La Liga, but with Sevilla heading to the Vicente Calderon to face Atletico Madrid on Saturday, it’s quite plausible that the Catalans could find themselves back at the summit come Sunday.

While Barcelona has become synonymous with attacking flair, it has been the club’s stout defense leading the way thus far under new manager Luis Enrique.

The Catalans have yet to concede a goal in league play, entering their sixth match of the campaign with 11 goals scored and zero leaked at the other end.

Another clean sheet could be in the cards this week as Barcelona will face a Granada side that has notched just four goals through five games, producing just one in its last three outings.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, cannot seem to stop scoring at the moment. The Galacticos have found the back of the net 18 times in their last three games across all competitions.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been the star of the show as the Portuguese attacker produced four goals in the club’s 5-1 defeat of Elche on Tuesday.

Both Ronaldo and Real Madrid will aim to keep rolling when they take on Villarreal at El Madrigal on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, Eibar will head to San Mames to face Athletic Bilbao while Levante plays host to Rayo Vallecano.

Valencia has won its last four league matches to remain unbeaten through five games thus far. The club will hope to match Barcelona’s result when it heads to the Anoeta on Sunday to face a Real Sociedad side that has lost its last two.

Sunday’s La Liga action will also see Malaga head to Getafe, Deportivo host Almeria and Espanyol take on Cordoba.

Friday’s lone La Liga match saw Nolito produce the lone goal as Celta Vigo claimed a 1-0 win at Elche.
